Find high quality cheap electric bikes, manufactured in the USA and built to last with robust components and the latest LiFePO4 Li-ion bicycle batteries.

Looking for high quality electric folding bikes with the latest LiFePO4 lithium battery technology? A quick look at online prices from niche brands like Kalkhoff or e-Moto would suggest you need to spend at least $1,500, but this article looks at an innovative company offering the bikes for under $1,000, built to last in the USA.

Best Electric Bicycle Batteries – Latest Technology

While the e-bike market is still relatively small in the USA and Europe, sales have been growing in the last ten years thanks to lighter, more efficient battery technology using lithium.

The latest LiFePO4 Lithium-ion (Li-ion) electric bicycle batteries are far more stable than earlier Lithium-ion batteries which used manganese and cobalt as the main cathode materials. While Li-ion batteries are much lighter than heavy lead acid batteries used in cheap electric bikes, the early Li-ion batteries have a low life expectancy of around 700 charging cycles and are prone to deteriorate in high temperatures.

LiFePO4 batteries offer the latest in Lithium-ion technology with a far more stable system that can be charged at higher amps and the batteries are heat-resistant. Critically, these batteries also offer longevity with over 2,000 recharging cycles.

Battery Powered Electric Bicycles

Until recently, LiFePO4 battery-powered electric bicycles cost upwards of $1,500, but Prodeco Technologies have spent three years developing an exciting range of folding electric bikes that use high quality components and LiFePO4 Li-ion batteries, ranging in price from just $699 to $1,099 MSRP.

The folding e-bikes in their range have:

  • Brushless motors.
  • High quality components – corrosion-resistant aluminum and stainless steel frames and thick stainless steel wheel spokes.
  • Easy to use twist and go throttles so riders can vary the amount of assistance from the motor.
  • 24v or 36v LiFePO4 batteries.
  • Disc brakes.
  • Adjustable stems.
  • Multiple gears on most models.
  • A 2-year warranty on all components and 24-hour parts replacement service.

E-Bikes Built in the USA

Prodeco decided to make e-bikes in the USA as they felt it was the only way to ensure the quality of the components down to the finest detail. The company’s goal is for electric bicycles to become a household item, whether they are used for recreation, commuting, getting around campus, the RV camp site or simply shopping.

The folding electric bikes come in a range of designs as seen in the pictures below and are delivered fully assembled. For those looking for e-bike style as well as great value, these bikes stand up to the chic designs offered by the likes of Giant and Schwinn, and they don’t cost over $2,000.

LiFePO4 Electric Bikes

It’s worth spending some time understanding the technology behind LiFePO4 electric bikes and electric bicycle batteries before deciding to purchase one. If you decide it’s worth investing in the latest technology, take a look at the range of bikes from Prodeco Technologies; they have just set the bar a lot higher in the electric folding bicycle market.
